A Great Day for Ossining MATTERS Race.

The sun shone brightly on more than 500 runners and walkers who came out in full force to support Ossining MATTERS. The event, which raised over $6000, brought people together from many parts of the Ossining community, as well as race participants from all over the tri-state area.

This year over 200 runners were willing to try the challenging 5K Trail run on the Old Croton Aqueduct, an increase of 50% over last year. The accompanying walkers, including toddlers in backpacks, enjoyed a 2 mile stroll. Some also stopped in to see the aqueduct weir chamber, which was open for viewing.

Over 100 volunteers helped to make the day the success that it was. Many Ossining MATTERS volunteers helped facilitate the registration and check-in process on race day, take photos and provide refreshments at the end of the race. Members of the the school board and administration were available to hand out water to the runners and walkers along the way. The OHS Marching Band added greatly to the festivities, and OHS Cheerleaders were at the finish line to cheer and support the participants.

Congratulations to all who participated and thank you to all the voulnteers and community sponsors, whose contributions made the race possible. To see race results, and images click the links below.
