Ossining MATTERS Education Foundation will use the proceeds to supplement academic, cultural arts, and athletic programs throughout the Ossining School District. Look for our funding announcement in early June, listing the new slate of programs and projects we will support for 2011- 2012.
We are so very grateful to all who contributed to the evening, whether by attending the concert, bidding at the auctions, donating items for the auction and reception, stuffing envelopes, or lending a hand in any of the dozens of other ways that helped bring the gala about. Extra thanks to our extraordinarily generous reception sponsor, Atria on the Hudson, and our concert sponsor, d&b. Thanks to all of you, we will continue to work together to make a positive difference in the education of Ossining's students.

Before performing at our Spring Gala on March 13, Tripping Lily's band members spent the afternoon conducting workshops for two groups of OHS musicians. Chamber Orchestra members participated in Monica Rizzio's Fiddle Workshop, which introduced them to the "fiddle chop," playing chords on the violin, and other new techniques for playing their instruments. Meanwhile, Demetrius and Alex Becrelis and Laird Boles held a Ukulele Workshop for Gimme the Mic students, who quickly picked up the basics of the instrument plus practice strategies to keep them going. On stage that night, the students joined the band to perform two songs, "Guilty," a Tripping Lily original, and "Big Country," a Bela Fleck tune. They all sounded wonderful - the two numbers were highlights of the concert.
Ossining MATTERS is very grateful to Tripping Lily for sharing their talent, energy, and time with our students through this terrific residency program.
