HELP WANTED (continued) Call Beth Levine at 941-9221 for more information or to volunteer. Public Relations and Marketing: Write press releases, write articles, contact the media. Develop a promotional program for the community, businesses, and the school district to reinforce positive imagery, keep the organization visible and convey information about the organization and its events. Web-page design and updates: Keep the web-site up-to-date. Put photos, articles, and announcements on the site. Grant writing: Join committee of grant researchers and writers. Research outside grant opportunities. Identify grant sources for programs proposed by Ossining School District staff. Help evaluate applications for funding to determine how they might be revised to comply with outside grant requirements. Help teachers write grant applications. Corporate Development: Join a committee of people who are actively seeking financial support from local businesses and corporations. Develop relationships with potential corporate/business donors and send out mailings. Identify the types of projects that each company might be interested in funding and their funding procedures. Promote matching funds opportunities. Large Giver Relations: Network with people in our community and beyond to identify and solicit generous gifts from individuals for specific projects or the general Ossining MATTERS fund. Database Development and Management: Assist with the acquisition, development and maintenance of our database to be used for our annual mailing and for other promotions. Special Events: Chair or work on committees for special events such as the race, concert other special events that might be planned. Newsletter: Help create and sustain an Ossining MATTERS newsletter to update the community regarding the activities of the foundation. Graphic Design: Computer design of flyers, brochures, posters, invitations and other printed communications. People with general graphic design skills (not computer generated) are also welcome. Finance/Accounting/Business: General help to assist and advise treasurer and Board of Directors on financial issues. Fund-raising/Direct Mail: Experience in the areas of fund-raising and direct mail program development and implementation. General Volunteers: If none of the above apply to you but you believe in the value of our organization and would like to help us in some way then please contact us so we can find the right role for you. We are also looking for educators from outside the Ossining School District or retired educators who can serve in an advisory capacity to our board or in any of the above roles. Recognizing the importance of fully serving the needs all students in the school district, we strive toward having volunteers in our organization who reflect the diversity of our community.
